The Fiddle and Bow Society to celebrate 35 years in the Triad on Saturday, March 5

The Fiddle and Bow Society has been bringing folk and acoustic music to the Triad area since 1981. On Saturday, March 5, organizers are planning a mini-festival at Muddy Creek Music Hall in the historic Bethania Mill to celebrate this milestone. The event, which is scheduled from 1 to 5 p.m., will feature Low Lily, The Fretless, Mountain Birch Duo featuring WFDD’s Paul Brown and Crann Ull.

Tickets are $20 at the door, which opens at 11:30 a.m. Organizers suggest you get there early if you want a good seat. For more information, call (336) 414-1699 or visit www.fiddleandbow.org.

WFDD hosts ‘Across the Blue Ridge’ IndieGoGo campaign kickoff at Muddy Creek Music Hall on Sunday, Nov. 8

88.5 WFDD, Winston-Salem’s NPR affiliate, is teaming up with Paul Brown to bring back “Across The Blue Ridge,” a popular program featuring Appalachian music and cultural history of the Blue Ridge region. Beginning in the late ’80s, the program ran for more than a decade until Brown left to become an executive, editor, producer, reporter and world newscaster at NPR in Washington, D.C., according to WFDD’s website.
