WILKESBORO, N.C.  –  MerleFest organizers have put together yet another great lineup for Friday, April 23, to make more music and memories with performances by The Marshall Tucker Band, Jim Lauderdale and North Mississippi Allstars, The Earls of Leicester, the Del McCoury Band performing songs of Woody Guthrie, Sam Bush Band, Bruce Robinson and Kelly Willis, The Kruger Brothers, Spinney Brothers, Chatham County Line, Mipso, Ballie & The Boys, The Honeycutters, among many others. Rooster Walk 7 adds five more bands to lineup including Donna the Buffalo, PBR

Rooster Walk Music and Arts Festival has added five more bands to its already impressive lineup for Rooster Walk 7 set for May 21-14 at Pop’s Farm in Axton, Va.  The acts are MerleFest and FloydFest favorites Donna the Buffalo as well as the People’s Blues of Richmond, Stop Light Observations, The Congress and Anthony Rosano & The Conqueroos.  Continue reading

MerleFest fans: If you have never seen Dwight Yoakam perform live, you are in for a treat at this year’s festival! The good folks over in Wilkesboro just announced that Yoakam will be performing on the Watson stage for the first time. The festival is also welcoming banjo-songstress Shannon Whitworth and perennial faves and N.C. natives Steep Canyon Rangers, who are also schedule to perform at Rooster Walk 7 over Memorial Day weekend in Axton, Va. Drive-By Truckers, Leftover Salmon, Shovels and Rope, Greensky Bluegrass and Sam Bush announced among FloydFest 14 initial lineup

FLOYD, Va. — On the heels of MerleFest’s initial lineup announcement comes one from FloydFest. “Fire on the Mountain,” otherwise known as FloydFest 14, will return to the 170.5 milepost of Blue Ridge Parkway on July 22 to 26, 2015, with a renaissance of thick, rich newgrass, Americana and rock, according to organizers. Country rockers Pure Prairie League to hit High Point Theatre Stage on Thursday, Oct. 30

Country rockers Pure Prairie League took their name from an obscure 19th century Temperance Union mentioned in the 1939 film Dodge City. But this distinctly American band, with its 40-year career and long line of top hits, escaped obscurity long ago. Although fan favorites right out of the gate it took a number of years before Pure Prairie League, formed by vocalist/guitar player Craig Fuller, had its first hit. But it couldn’t have picked a better way to start, and “Aimee” not only put PPL on the map, but went on to become perhaps the most well-known and beloved country rock songs of all time, according to the High Point Theatre website.
