After Jack performs at Rooster Walk 6

Who is Music Reporter?

Life is too short to listen to mediocre music. That’s why Lisa Snedeker has been writing about performers — many of whom you may have never heard — for more than three decades for numerous media outlets including The Associated Press. She has interviewed hundreds of artists ranging from Taylor Swift to Rickey Medlocke to Steve Earle to Sam Bush and reviewed even more concerts and music festivals including MerleFest, Floydfest, the Charlie Poole Festival, the Telluride Bluegrass Festival, Front Porch Fest and Rooster Walk. Now a freelance entertainment writer who calls North Carolina home, she focuses on area music festivals and musicians in an effort to expose their offerings and talents to broader audiences. Dear Lisa – Howdy from Nashville. It’s been great to see you champion roots music at the Huffington Post. I’m writing to invite you to be part of the Music City Roots community. We’re loaded each week with old favorites and new discoveries that would seem to be right in your wheelhouse. I think the show itself could be a great story for HuffPo or somebody – we’ve been on 5 years with 44 Wed night shows per year. The only show of its kind out of Music City. We’re nationwide on public TV with our second season starting in mid Feb. Mid 2014 saw us move to a larger venue – the Factory at Franklin, TN. I’d love to chat about it some time. Browse our YouTube channel for recent song highlights from Kai Welch, Doug Seegers, Mary Gauthier, Angeleena Presley, etc. If you’d ever like to be with us in person, we’d love to treat you to dinner and beer and a great show. Drop me a line any time. Craig Havighurst.

Hi Craig, Thanks so much for the kind words and for reaching out. I checked out Music City Roots and agree that it is definitely in my wheelhouse. I would love to come to a show the next trip I make to Nashville. Thanks so much for the invite. I’ll let you know when I am heading that way. Best, Lisa
