Six String Presents Chris Rosser and Aaron Price at The Cary Theater at 8 p.m. on Saturday, July 21. Rosser has opened for John Mayer, Nickel Creek and won songwriting contests at MerleFest and Rocky Mountain Folk Festival.  Aaron Price Music is a multi-instrumentalist from Asheville.

Tickets are $15 to $25.

Chris Rosser

Rosser is a multi-instrumentalist, singer-songwriter, composer and producer. As a solo performer, has opened shows for folk and pop luminaries including Tom Rush, David Wilcox, Shawn Mullins and John Gorka.

He has released four solo singer-songwriter recordings: Archaelogy (1998), The Holy Fool (2000), Hidden Everywhere (2006) and A Thousand Hands (2014).

As a recipient of the 1999 WNC Regional Artists grant, he continued his studies of Hindustani classical music and the sarod (a 25-string fretless Indian lute) with world-famous Indian musician Ali Akbar Khan.

In 2003, he was awarded a prestigious songwriter/somper fellowship from the N.C. Arts Council. Chamber Music America awarded him and Free Planet Radio a grant in 2014 to compose and perform a three-movement piece for the trio, plus string quartet.

Rosser earned a Bachelof of Music degree from the University of Miami School of Music, where he studied jazz piano and studio recording.

Aaron Price

Price is an Asheville-based musician and producer. A talented if not prolific writer, Price  is a versatile multi-instrumentalist at home when playing bass, piano or guitar.

He has produced many records, including local releases by the Honeycutters, Malcolm Holcombe, Stephanies Id, Kellin Watson, Cary Fridley and others.

Currently performing songs from an upcoming release, Price is unveiling many new tunes this year.
