The holidays wouldn’t be the same without Chatham County Line’s annual December Electric Tour.
The Raleigh, North Carolina-based Americana traditional string band is taking its holiday show to some of its favorite spots — Richmond, Virginia; Washington, D.C.; Saxapahaw, North Carolina — with an additional hometown show planned for the Lincoln Theatre on Wednesday, Dec. 13, to kick off the tour.
As always, the show will feature both a full Chatham County Line Acoustic Set followed by a raucous Electric Set. Check out the band’s Tour Page for details and tickets.
The following poem is from the band’s website:
All our stockings are hung by the chimney with care
As in Raleigh, Richmond, D.C., Saxapahaw we’ll soon be there
The bulbs are strung ’round the Charlie Brown tree
As Johnny throws the harness to the
Mule Sprinter team
Instruments gleam both old and new
As Greg shares a homemade peppermint chew
The eggnog is spiced with cinnamon stick
As John Teer dreams of a snowflake shaped mandolin pick
The lyrics are printed in a festive hue
As Dave asks Santa the chords to Kind of Blue
Jay Brown brings cider warmed by the fire
As Zeke tells his drums they are too young to retire
And as the banjo is nestled in the overhead bin
Chandler’s blown east by cold Colorado winds
So wrap all your gifts and cue a festive pour
It is time again for The Electric Holiday Tour!
