From the good folks at MerleFest:
MerleFest, one of the premier music festivals in the country, will sponsor a diverse collection of artists showcasing their music as part of the Bluegrass Ramble during this year’s International Bluegrass Music Association’s (IBMA) World of Bluegrass. Showcases will take place Sept. 26 – 28 in Raleigh, North Carolina.
The Bluegrass Ramble is IBMA’s innovative series of showcases in clubs and restaurants throughout downtown Raleigh and at the Raleigh Convention Center; fans can take in over 150 performances from September 26-30.
The MerleFest-sponsored showcases during the Ramble will take place at the Vintage Church (formerly named the Longview Center) at 118 S. Person Street, each night (Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday). Kings, located at 14 W. Martin Street, will also host showcases on Tuesday and Thursday night.
This year’s performers include Sideline, The Gravy Boys, The Slocan Ramblers, Edgar Loudermilk Band (featuring Jeff Autry), Newberry & Verch, Salt and Light, Darin and Brooke Aldridge, Jim Lauderdale, Ken Tizzard, Mark Bumgarner, Kristy Cox, The Honey Dewdrops, and Roe Family Singers.
Admission to the Bluegrass Ramble evening showcases is available to both IBMA Business Conference attendees (must show conference badge) and to the general public, via Bluegrass Ramble showcase passes, which may be purchased per day or as a three-day package. Attendees are encouraged to take advantage of the Bluegrass Express, a free shuttle bus that runs non-stop between the Marriott City Center and both Ramble venues.
