Building on the success of the inaugural concert event in June, Flow Honda and Phuzz Phest will present the second volume of “Sunset Thursdays,” its free community concert series on Thursday, Aug. 13, at Bailey Park in the Wake Forest Innovation Quarter in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. The June event drew more than 600 attendees, according to organizers.

Durham-based Americana troubadours Hiss Golden Messenger (Merge Records) headline the show, riding a wave of momentum from their performance on “Late Show With David Letterman,” and critical praise for their 2014 album, “Lateness of Dancers.” and 2015 EP “Southern Grammar.” This marks the first time band leader MC Taylor will appear with a full band in Winston-Salem, after several captivating solo sets at Phuzz Phest and Southeastern Center for Contemporary Art (SECCA)‘s Crossroads concert series, says Philip Pledger, Phuzz Phest founder. Local songwriting luminary Jeffrey Dean Foster will open the show with his band.

Speaking of taste, in addition to excellent music, several food trucks will be on-site serving dinner, including Camel City Grill, Bandito Burrito, The Ice Queen and more. Single Brothers bar will be on-site serving cocktails, beer and wine.

Doors for the show will open at 6:15 p.m., with Jeffrey Dean Foster playing at 7 p.m., and Hiss Golden Messenger headlining at 8 p.m.

This is an all-ages event. Dogs on leashes are welcome. No glass bottles or outside alcohol is allowed in Bailey Park. Free street parking is available on numerous streets neighboring the park, including on Patterson Avenue.
