On the heels of last night’s International Bluegrass Music Association (IBMA) Awards, you can catch many of the winners performing today, Oct. 3, and Saturday, Oct. 4, in Raleigh at Wide Open Bluegrass, part of the IBMA’s World of Bluegrass annual event.
The main stages in the Raleigh Convention Center and Red Hat Amphitheater will play host to some of the best bluegrass lineups around including Sam Bush, Bela Fleck, Jerry Douglas, Edgar Meyer, Bryan Sutton, & Stuart Duncan; Ricky Skaggs & Bruce Hornsby; a world premiere of a new concerto by The Kruger Brothers and the Kontras Quartet, among others, according to the website. The other half of Wide Open Bluegrass is a free Street Festival from noon until 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday, which includes four music stages, a youth talent stage, the North Carolina Whole Hog Barbecue State Championship, Dance Tent, and more.
