DANBURY, N.C. — The annual Stokes Stomp Festival on the Dan is celebrating its 40th birthday with free concerts including bluegrass sensation The Lonesome River Band and the Doobie Brothers’ John Cowan, John McFee and Friends.
The Lonesome River Band is scheduled to hit the stage Saturday afternoon while John Cowan, John McFee and Friends are scheduled to play Sunday afternoon.
The longest running arts council sponsored event in North Carolina, the Stokes Stomp is held annually along the banks of the beautiful Dan River at Moratock Park, 1077 Sheppard Mill Road in Danbury, according to the website.
